The Beecher FPD Firefighters' Pension Fund

Firefighters (sworn personnel) are covered under the Beecher Fire Protection District Firefighters’ Pension Plan, a defined-benefit pension system administered by the Beecher Firefighters’ Pension Fund Board. Pension benefits and contribution requirements are governed by the Illinois State Statute, 40 ILCS 5, Article 4 — Firefighters’ Pension Fund (Municipalities with populations of 500,000 and under).

The District’s pension fund is funded through three primary sources: investment earnings, employee contributions as established by state statute, and employer contributions determined through actuarial analysis to ensure long-term financial stability.
