The Beecher Fire Protection District is looking for a new class of youth candidates interested in learning what it takes to be a firefighter! Kids who live within the boundaries of the Beecher Fire Protection District / Beecher School District can now register for our 3rd Annual Junior Fire Academy. This program will run from July 21st, 2025, to July 25th, 2025, 9:00 am - 11:30 am each day. The Junior Fire Academy is open to youth candidates ages 6 to 16.

Participants will gain an understanding of how the Beecher Fire Protection District is structured, the responsibilities of our firefighters, the capabilities of each apparatus, and the teamwork required for the Fire District to execute its duties. The academy will be a combination of lectures, hands-on training, and games. Academy participants will learn about various topics, including firefighting, search and rescue, electrical safety, and more! All activities will be conducted under the close supervision of Fire District personnel. We will wrap up the week with a formal graduation at the John C. Dean Memorial Theater at 673 Penfield Street, followed by a cookout.
